My dear Sir!

I am very ashamed to be your debtor for three amiable letters. but You must have indulgence with a very much toiled and moiled poor man, as I am.

I have now to give you an account of our Oberon.      two acts are ended. the first is in itsΔ total state as you have written it. In the second I have yetΔ fullfilled your wish to compose “a lonely arab maid” pp —Δ but I would have ommittedΔ Δ []o Araby my native land” Δ in the third act, because I fear that the Opera will beΔ too long already.      this Song however shall not disunite us; and I will comose itΔ, perhaps first in England.

The Duo for Reiza and Huon Δ which you was so Kind asΔ to send me, I haveΔ not composed, because, beautiful as it is, it can not beΔ placed in that Situation with Effect.

Little changements which I have permitted myselfΔ, shall, asΔ I hope, be ratified by you.

My health is yet Δ weak indeedΔ, but much better than Δ last Winter and if Δ Oberon is yet fixed to be played onΔ Eastermonday 1826, I hope surely to be in London the first days of march.

I pray, You will be so good, as to say to Mr Livius that I have already sent him an answer under the date of the 18t SeptembreΔ on his adress =Δ Dorsett Cottage, Grosvenor Place.
