Summary: Jähns hält seine frühere Meinung noch immer für gültig, dass nämlich Weber vermutlich seine Compositionen selbst in Salzburg vernichtet hat, er geht darin mit der Meinung von Musiol konform; die Benedict‘sche Weber-Biographie wurde ihm vom Verlag Breitkopf & Härtel vor etwa 2 Jahren in deutscher Übersetzung zur Beurteilung zugeschickt. Da sie nichts Neues zu Weber und auch manche Irrtümer enthält, nahm der Verlag von einer deutschen Übersetzung Abstand; schließlich klärt er die Frage der Lipsius nach der Cantate “Auf! Hinaus in‘s frische Leben!” auf und bittet für die Beantwortung der Brief-Frage noch um etwas Geduld.

Summary: Kommentiert die Neuauflage ihrer Studienköpfe, in denen jetzt Werkverzeichnisse hinzugefügt worden sind, dankt, dass sie im Falle Weber auf sein Werkverzeichnis zurückgegriffen habe. Bedauert, dass sein Nachtrag ins Stocken geraten ist, Schuld daran ist auch ein lange recherchierter und geplanter Aufsatz; hofft, sie in diesem Jahr sehen zu können.
