Glaubt, dass Apels letzter Brief kalt gewesen sei, irrt sich aber vielleicht, freut sich aufs Wiedersehen Ostern nächsten Jahres.

Summary: Apel schickt Rochlitz offenbar einen Scherenschnitt von Mad. Hendel und ein Stammbuchblatt von ihr, auf dem sich Rochlitz eintragen sollte. Summary: schickt Apel den 2. Bd. seiner “Erfahrungen” zusammen mit dem 1. Bd. aus Apels Besitz zurück, hat es ähnlich binden lassen und teilt ihm mit, dass er diesen Band ihm gewidmet hat, glaubt, dass die 2. Hälfte des ersten Aufsatzes seiner würdig ist. Er wollte damit warten, bis er etwas geschrieben hat, mit dem er zufrieden ist, fürchtet aber, dass das nie sein wird.
