Summary: betr. die Beziehungen zwischen Weber und Schlesinger, die dadurch, dass Weber sein Horn-Concertino Peters überlassen hatte, offensichtlich getrübt waren; Weber betont, er habe das Concertino Peters erst angeboten, nachdem Schlesinger es ihm zur Umarbeitung zurückschickte; habe ihm als Ersatz das Rondo galant angeboten, das er für attraktiver halte; macht deutlich, dass er auf die persönliche Auseinandersetzung Schlesingers mit Peters keine Rücksicht nehmen könne, weshalb er um Verständnis bittet: Schlesinger könne, bei aller Dankbarkeit, zu der Weber ihm gegenüber verpflichtet sei, nicht verlangen, dass er (Weber) Kompositionen, die dieser ablehne, nicht anderweitig zum Verlag anbiete, zumal er von vielen Seiten lukrative Angebote erhalte; gibt Auskunft über die noch in Arbeit befindlichen Kompositionen für Schlesinger, die er nach Vollendung seiner neuen Messe in Angriff nehmen wolle
