Summary: hat von Max Maria von Weber gerade die Nachricht erhalten, dass Caroline von Weber am 22. Februar (recte: 23.) verstorben sei und leitet Rellstab als Freund der Webers die Information weiter “[...] da ich selbst lange Jahre zu der Verstorbenen in dem Verhältniß eines Sohnes zu einer Mutter gestanden habe. Sie wurde 57 Jahre alt. Zu frühester Zeit am Theater bis zu ihrer Verheirathung mit Weber war sie eine vortreffliche, hochgeschätzte Künstlerin, wahrhaft kunstsinnig, ja geistvoll, war sie bei Webers späteren Schöpfungen ja sogar nicht ohne Einfluß auf dieselben; nach dem Tode des Gatten war sie bis zu ihrem Ende, wenn auch in tiefer, stiller Trauer über seinen Verlust [...] dennoch dem Kreise ihrer Freunde eine ebenso liebenswerthe wie geistig belebende Persönlichkeit.[...]”
